Hoton Parish Council News – January 2018
Defibrillator for Hoton
A working group, led by Mark Gane, have managed to raise enough funds to purchase a defibrillator for Hoton. The Parish Council would like to thank the working group who have worked hard to raise awareness of the issue and to raise the funds required. We look forward to the installation of the unit in the village soon.
Broadband Equipment Cabinet
A contractor for BT Openreach have notified Charnwood Borough Council of their intention to site a 'DSLAM equipment cabinet' for provision of fixed-line broadband, on Prestwold Lane, near to the junction with Old Parsonage Lane. Due to the nature of the development they do not need to apply for permission, just to notify the planning authority. The Parish Council have contacted the contractor and BT Openreach asking for further information regarding the new cabinet - the chosen location is near to an existing BT access point and it will serve the residences along Prestwold Lane; these properties are among the last few in the County to be able to have superfast broadband.
The information can be found on Charnwood Borough Council's planning portal: https://portal.charnwood.gov.uk/Northgate/PlanningExplorerAA/ApplicationSearch.aspx
