On Sunday 17th February Prestwold Lane and Wymeswold Road will be closed for the safety of competitors competing in the Leicestershire Half Marathon. If we receive any further details closer to the event these will be posted on our website.

Parish Precept

Parish Council Elections
Have you thought about becoming a councillor? Would you like to be a 'voice' for your community? The election of councillors to serve for the next four years will be held on 2 May 2019. Parish councillors serve the local community by engaging with local residents and deciding what services and projects the parish council will deliver to improve the quality of life for those living in the village of Hoton and elsewhere in the parish. Your current councillors find this an enjoyable and rewarding position.

For more information about what being a councillor involves and how to stand for election see our website or contact the parish clerk on the details below. The deadline for submission of nomination papers is 4 p.m. on 3 April 2019, although it is advisable to send them in before that date so that any mistakes or omissions can be corrected before the deadline.

Poultry Farm
Charnwood Borough Council requested a further environmental impact assessment be carried out by the applicant. It is anticipated that a decision will be made on this application in April.

Police report
There were no crimes reported in October; in November there was a theft from a new build site.

Next Parish Council Meeting
The next meeting will be held on Monday 4th March 2019 at 8pm in Hoton Village Hall.
